The scope of the assessment of the minimum knowledge includes the following positions :

 - Sellers of financial products
 - Negotiators of financial instruments
 - Managers
 - Financial analysts
 - Heads of post-trade services
 - Heads of clearing of financial instruments
 - Investments Services Compliance officers
 - Compliance officer and Internal Control

Candidates take the exam using a computer with an Internet connection.

The exam consists of a set of 100 multiple choice questions to be answered to within 3 hours. In practice, candidates generally complete the exam in less than two hours. In other words, time constraints do not factor much in this exam.

A minimum of 85% of correct answers to level A questions and 75% of correct answers to level C questions is required to pass the exam.
